Garden Day & Self-Care Sunday

Hoops, Headspace & Harvest!

Garden Day & Self-Care Sunday brought together movement, mental wellbeing and hands-on gardening, making space to pause, recharge and connect with one another.

Centred on a safe, welcoming space for everyone’s story, the day encouraged slowing down, breathing and enjoying the moment, with plenty of room for laughter and fun. Its message was simple: leave behind the pressure to be perfect, have every answer or always appear strong. Self-care means giving yourself permission to be present, just as you are.

Comic Con Africa 2026

Creative careers, storytelling, gaming and technology.

We took our young explorers to Comic Con Africa. They attended a hands-on “From Idea to Storyboard” workshop, learned how to turn a webtoon into a TV series with Cabblow Studios, and joined the “Kids Make A Comic” session to build their own imaginative worlds. They explored the Artist Alley and the gaming and tech zones, including Telkom VS Gaming and Toyota Gaming Engine, and tried their hand at free-to-play games like EA FC and Tekken.

They asked questions, learned about career paths, and saw first-hand what it takes to build a career in the creative industries. For many young people, the barrier isn’t talent, it’s access. They don’t get to meet professionals who look like them, or see the careers they dream about in real life.

A huge thank you to Comic Con Africa for having us, and to everyone who made this day unforgettable. This is just the beginning. We are building futures, one dream at a time.

Afro Geek Fest 2026

Turning “maybe” into “I can.”

On 22 August 2026, we took our cohort to Afro Geek Fest in Soweto for our Tech Exploration Day. Our explorers met animators, game developers, illustrators, and tech innovators. Many of our explorers had never met anyone who actually worked in these fields. They had never stepped into a space where their passions were not just hobbies, but viable career paths. That is exactly what Afro Geek Fest offered.

These professionals looked like them and many shared their background. That moment of recognition turns “maybe” into “I can.”

None of this would be possible without our partners Ilizwe Logistics, Wild Spear Spur, Panarottis Maponya, Gravity Print, and our incredible volunteers. Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we are building futures. One dream at a time.
